All of our instructors are retired law enforcement officers, certified through the NJ Police Training Commission as Firearm Instructors, with several holding NRA certifications as well. Each instructor is also authorized by the New Jersey State Police to qualify retired law enforcement officers to carry under the NJ RPO Program. Every instructor brings years of experience, teaching brand new recruits, private citizens and veteran officers.
Christopher Drew
CEO & Chief Instructor
Chris is the founder, CEO, and Chief Instructor of Central Jersey Firearm Instruction, LLC. He is a retired law enforcement professional with 25 years of distinguished service. He began his career with the Trenton Police Department, where he served in multiple roles, including patrol officer, crash investigator, motorcycle officer, and member of the Street Crimes Unit. He later joined the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, where he was assigned to the Trenton-Mercer Airport as a K-9 handler and trainer specializing in narcotic detection, explosives detection, and patrol operations. He retired at the rank of Lieutenant and served as the Unit Commanding Officer of the Trenton-Mercer Airport and K-9 Unit. In addition, he served as the Supervisor-in-Charge for numerous large-scale venues at the Mercer County Arena and has over 10 years of experience providing Church Security during special events and annual live-action Christmas Shows.
Post retirement, Chris was hired as the Surveillance Manager for Parx Casino-Sportsbook in Freehold, where he managed the Surveillance Unit. There he was responsible for Regulatory Compliance and led investigations into illegal and nefarious activities, money laundering and human trafficking. Chris has worked numerous Executive Protection and Residential Security Details. He has served as Site Manager for armed security details and as the Assistant Site Manager for a security company contracted to provide security services for a Fortune 500 Pharmaceutical Company.
Chris holds dual instructor certifications issued by the NJ Police Training Commission as a Firearm Instructor and the NRA (National Rifle Association). He is also authorized by the New Jersey State Police to conduct RPO (Retired Police Officer) qualification training and CCW (Concealed Carry). Chris brings the discipline, professionalism, and expertise of a career in law enforcement to every class he teaches.
Our Mission
Central Jersey Firearm Instruction, LLC was founded on a single principle: responsible firearm ownership starts with world-class instruction. All of our instructors are retired law enforcement officers who are certified through the New Jersey Police Training Commission as Firearm Trainers. Several of our instructors also hold National Rifle Association (NRA) certifications and can conduct NRA sponsored firearm and CCW classes as well.
